I'm afraid simulation and game probably don't mix well together - while it would be a very cool game, it WOULD have to have arcade physics because of certain limitations.

You see, it takes a REAL world crew of two people two actually fly this thing (I manage to fly it because I can press PAUSE button, and do many things at once), and requires a small team of engineers (I barely get away with this by sitting with a laptop which shows all the engineering info).

It also takes at least a month to prepare this thing for a space flight (improve various internal systems, etc). Also, it takes about 1 hour on ground to prepare systems for flight, 30 minutes to actually reach edge of space, and then 30 more minutes of on-orbit work to make it stay on the orbit. Depending on mission profile it might take an extra hour to adjust orbit to wanted one.

You know, it has hundreds of switches for a reason :)

A space race game would have to omit these requirements to be fun - and probably have slightly arcade physics.

True. Perhaps it could be made into an actual game instead of a simulation. The players would have technology tiers. Everything would be based off of real space physics, but there would be fictional materials that players could use, unlocked through tech tiers, to build spacecrafts.
I have other ideas too, but maybe a bit too much for just a comment.

I am liking the sound of this. I could imagine going through Tech Tiers of like old 60's computers, to 80's console-esque screens, to 20xx, then on to the future.

NEED MOAR GUNS. Lol Jk :P

What if someone wrote a space simulator? :O It simulates the physics of space. You design, and build spaceships. That would be awesome.

I have MSFSX, the inability to go to low earth orbit is kind of not nice :(

Send the SDK though, I might take a look at headers. Maybe it's gonna be possible to port SASL over to FSX, which will make all these scripts run on both

Hello Phoenix! I am very impressed with every single amount of time and effort you've put into every one of your projects and have really payed off. I am training to be a pilot and, as a user of Microsoft Flight Simulator X, would be much obliged and interested if you would to do some Virtual Cockpit modeling and functioning. FSX is a more compatible interface since the deluxe edition of the game has its own SDK built in. If you wanted I could send you a RAR of ZIP file of the SDK if you wanted. Keep up the good work!
